SECI and PFC sign MoA for Mini/Micro Off Grid Solar Power Plants

Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) joins hands with Power Finance Corporation Ltd. (PFC) towards its objectives of achieving Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission (JNNSM). In order to provide energy access to remote villages, a Memorandum of Association (MoA) has been signed between PFC and SECI on 20th August, 2013 at New Delhi.
The MoA envisages installation of Mini/Micro Off-Grid Solar Power Plants in three villages in the State of Haryana for which PFC will be providing up to 60% of the total project cost under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Government of Haryana will be funding 10% of the total project cost and SECI will organize 30% subsidy from the Government of India. The project will be implemented by SECI. This project will become a model and open up possibilities for scaling up and covering large number of un-electrified villages/hamlets in the State of Haryana as well as other parts of the country.
SECI is a newly formed Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, Government of India as an implementation and facilitation institution dedicated to Solar Energy sector.
